Manuscripts Room

Like the Research Room, the Manuscripts Room is characterised by large windows and lined with shelving units. Its most distinctive feature, however, is the mezzanine level, which increases the available space while enhancing the sense of verticality. Light, neutral wall colours reinforce the decorative scheme, which is particularly evident in the coffered ceilings.

The ceilings are divided into regular panels framed by relief elements decorated with vegetal motifs and interlacing patterns. Inspired by Renaissance models, the ornament includes elegant rosettes, foliate motifs and symmetrical compositions, reinterpreted in a simple and orderly manner. The delicate, harmonious colour palette contributes to an atmosphere of understated elegance, where functionality and beauty exist in perfect balance.
